The Phase II exam is a descriptive type test that consists of three papers – Economic and Social Issues, English Language, and Finance and Management. The Interview is the final stage of the selection process.

The examination is conducted to recruit candidates for the Grade B Officer position in various bank departments, such as the Department of Economic and Policy Research, Department of Banking Supervision, Department of Non-Banking Supervision, etc.

  • Age Limit: The candidate must be between 21 and 30 years of age as of the date mentioned in the notification.
  • Educational Qualification: The candidate must have secured a minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD) or an equivalent grade in a Bachelor’s degree as well as in 12th (or Diploma or equivalent) 10th standard examinations.

Application Process for RBI Grade B Officer Exam:

The application process for this examination is entirely online. Candidates must visit the bank’s official website and fill in the application form with all the required details. Candidates must also upload their photographs and signature along with the application form. Candidates are also required to pay the application fee mentioned in the notification.

Syllabus for RBI Grade B Officer Exam:

The syllabus for the grade examination is as follows:

Phase I Syllabus:

  • General Awareness: Current Affairs, Indian Economy, International Economy, Finance, Social Issues, Awards and Honours, Books and Authors, Sports, Science and Technology, etc.
  • English Language: Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Correction, Error Spotting, etc.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: Simplification, Average, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion, Data Interpretation, Time and Work, Time, Speed and Distance, etc.
  • Reasoning: Coding and Decoding, Blood Relations, Syllogism, Inequalities, Seating Arrangement, Puzzles, etc.

Phase II Syllabus:

  • Economic and Social Issues: Growth and Development, Economic Reforms, Inflation, Poverty and Unemployment, Globalization, Social Structure in India, Human Development, etc.
  • English Language: Essay, Precis Writing, Comprehension, Business/Office Correspondence, etc.
  • Finance and Management: Financial System, Financial Markets, Risk Management, Corporate Governance, Basel Accords, Union Budget, Monetary Policy, etc.
