Heidi Derosa is an artist and writer, and she has had to deal with many health issues over the years.
I’ve been going back and forth with her about her blog and whether her website, heidi-derosa.com, is appropriate. On one hand I like it because it’s personal, and in that way it helps her and the general public get a better handle on what she’s dealing with. Her blog is also fun to read because it’s full of random quotes, so you can get a sense of what she’s dealing with all the time.
I personally feel that Heidi’s blog is one of the better blogs out there, but when I’ve read her site it’s always been full of bad things, not great things. Her website is full of links to her blog, and I have to ask if they are really necessary.
I think this is an example of how blogs can be a very dangerous thing. If you aren’t very careful, you can end up in a situation where you can’t defend yourself on your own blog. Which is why it seems to me that there should be a line between what is personal and what is not. If you are just going to post links to your blog, you shouldn’t have links to sites that you don’t necessarily think you should link to.
